Another slow week

It was another slow week last week with what feels like very little progress. We did start to get some larch barge boards and fascia boards up and all the counter batons are in place.

We did have our slates delivered during the week and the slaters are due on site this week so hopefully will start to see some more visual progress. We will be back in Aberdeen the next weekend so will have the chance to see how things are progressing in person

Also another week spent cursing the lack of service from courier companies as yet another delivery turns up late ....ahhhhh!

Slow progress on the roof

Its been a rather slow week this week getting started on the roof work. Shaping the rafter ends was straightforward enough but the distance between the rafters was greater than usual due to the SIP roof panel width. Additional support was therefore necessary so that the OSB covers would not sag under the weight of the slates.

The weather also contributed to the slow progress with showers stopping work ( it feels just like a cricket test match!) at times. The counter batons through finally did start to get installed at the end of the week. I have had to postpone the solar collector installation again since we need the slate batons in place for the installation.

Hopefully we can start making better progress next week so we can have the roof complete before the start of trades fortnight in July
